Dr. Muniya Khanna
Director, Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Khanna is a renowned clinical psychologist and researcher specializing in child and adolescent anxiety and OCD. She is Founder and Director of the OCD & Anxiety Institute which is both a clinical and innovation hub for the treatment of anxiety disorders. Her significant research contributions have established the evidence base for cognitive behavioral treatment for youth anxiety and OCD worldwide.
She is co-author with Dr. Phil Kendall, of The CAT Project, the gold standard treatment for anxiety in adolescents. She and Dr. Kendall also developed the first evidence-based e-learning program for child anxiety, Camp Cope-A-Lot, and its companion parent-training e-learning program, Child Anxiety Tales. Most recently, they published CATS, the group CBT treatment for anxiety in schools.
Dr. Khanna has previously served as Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. She has been a contributor and Co-Investigator on some of the most important research in the field of child anxiety in the last 15 years, including the Child and Adolescent Multimodal Study (CAMS; Walkup et al., 2008), Pediatric OCD Treatment Study (POTS II; Franklin et al. 2011), and Family-based Treatment of Early Childhood OCD (POTS Jr.; Freeman et al., 2014) trials.
On weekends you’ll find Muniya at the squash courts cheering on her kids, Ishani (19) and Sammy (15) and planning family adventures with her incredibly smart and funny husband and biggest supporter, Vijay.
